The Peruvian team is still in the fight to qualify for the next World Cup and will have key games against Colombia and Ecuador, in the upcoming double date of the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers. Precisely, the clash against the ‘Tri’ will be in Lima and the Federation Peruana de Fútbol (FPF) has been fine-tuning the logistical details.

In the last hours, after the new sanitary measures imposed by the Government in the face of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), it was confirmed that the meeting will be attended by the public. According to the regulations, only 30% of the total capacity of the National Stadium and other venues will be enabled for the entry of fans.

However, El Comercio was able to confirm that the FPF seeks to have a greater number of fans in the stands for Peru vs. Ecuador (50% of the total capacity of the José Díaz colossus) and therefore, they will request permits from the Minsa and the corresponding authorities. The representatives of the governing body of Peruvian soccer will have two weeks to comply with the requirements and receive authorization.

Let us remember that the match against the Ecuadorian team, for date 16 of the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers, is scheduled to take place next Tuesday, February 2 (9:00 pm). Previously, those led by Ricardo Gareca will have to measure forces against Colombia, as a visitor (Friday, January 28).

Positive outlook for the Peruvian team

This Thursday, January 20, the ‘Blanquirroja’ will face Jamaica in a friendly match at the National Stadium, for which it will be attended by 12,906 spectators. Despite the urgency of the request, the government authorities granted the guarantees, and there were even new ones.

According to the resolution issued to the FPF, fans will be able to enter the sports venue with flags and musical instruments, which were approved in the preliminary request. Now, from La Videna they intend that the scenario be repeated, but with a greater number of attendees.
