There is a project that excites a lot in University of Sports. The Minor Divisions was an area practically forgotten in the cream club. Now they want to change that history and for this the current administration of the cream team appointed Manuel Barreto as the new Head of the Technical Unit of Minor Divisions. The great objective is for the U to be a hotbed of great players and professionals in every sense.
The training of a soccer player is not only teaching them to kick a ball or make some fancy plays. It has been shown that having talent is not enough to go far.
“We are building a project with what we have found and above all with what we are giving. Yes I can tell you that we are starting from the base. With firm foundations to be a sustainable project and that over time can show the results we want”, declared Manuel Barreto.
Focused on this season’s goals! ????

The coach of the cream team exclusively showed us some pictures of this project that aims to transform academy football into academic. The basis of the work is to promote values in future soccer players. That is a point on which little is worked on in Peru.
In University of Sports the characteristics of the players they want to have from now on were also established.
“I am excited about everything that the ‘U’ can build. The creation of an area for the development and care of talent is being closed. This will help us in all the emotional management of the boys that cannot be neglected. We also have the infrastructure area, a project to develop a gymnasium and offices in VIDU of first technological order. This would make VIDU one of the benchmark training centers in South America. At a methodological level, we are also introducing an innovative project with methods that are used in the best teams in the world”Manuel Barreto told us.

TALENT CARE
Player care is a very important issue. How do you make a boy understand that he has the talent to go very far. That you don’t feel that pressure to hurry up in the training processes and that you have your feet on the ground. That is a big problem in Peru. That is why you see so many young people with many qualities that fall by the wayside.
“In the area of talent development and care, we are going to make a file on the player to find out in depth where he comes from, what his environment is and the support network he has. There are many examples in our football of very talented boys who could not take care of that emotional part and that talent could not be exploited in the dimension that we all would have wanted, ” adds Barrett.
About the game model, . There the player is the protagonist and not the coach. No solutions are given to the player. You are given problems so that they can solve them.
Manuel Barreto knows and lived firsthand that there are clubs that have taken a lot of advantage over academic in player training. The coach worked at Sporting Cristal and witnessed the growth of several boys who are now part of the first team and some even made it to the Peruvian national team.
