Bad news for the Barça club, given that Ansu Fati has failed to complete a season. The Hispanic-Guinean soccer player suffers from an injury to the proximal tendon of the femoral biceps of the left thigh, as reported by Barcelona in a statement.

The 19-year-old player suffered last Thursday in San Mamés, against Athletic Club for the Copa del Rey, his second major muscle ailment of the season after overcoming a serious injury to the internal meniscus of his left knee last September.

After the tests carried out this Friday, the club’s medical services did not detail the weeks of sick leave that the Spanish international will be, but they pointed out thatand “in the next few days the treatment to be followed will be decided”.

Ansu entered in the 60th minute replacing Ferran Jutglà. He lasted 35 minutes on the pitch, until his proximal biceps femoris tendon in his left thigh said enough. He left the lawn dejected and this Friday the injury was confirmed. One more stone in the path of coach Xavi Hernández to recover effective guarantees up front.

It was the second game he had played since he was discharged from the ailment in the same muscle that he suffered on November 6 against Celta.

It should be noted that, since he made his debut with the first team on August 25, 2019, becoming the second youngest Barça player to play a LaLiga match, at 16 years and 298 days, Fati has smashed early records despite the serious knee injury suffered in the 2020-21 academic year.
