A light of hope for ‘Nole’. The French government announced that from February they will change several restrictions that were imposed by the coronavirus pandemic, which would facilitate Novak Djokovic’s access to the country where the Roland Garros Tournament is organized.

In France, the decision has been made to annul, as of February 2, the mandatory use of the mask, mandatory teleworking and the limitation of capacity in any type of sporting and cultural event. In addition to this, the French Prime Minister maintained that it is not ruled out not to request, in the coming weeks, the health passport.

It should be noted that the French Ministry of Health confirmed that the number of cases of those infected with coronavirus has not decreased. Therefore, Jean Castex argued that the issue regarding the health passport will occur, as long as the hospital pressure.

With the possibility that the restrictions continue to ease, Djokovic would have no conflict to be part of the Roland Garros that will be played from May 22 to June 5.

One of the new rules that France would apply is the entry of unvaccinated people who have tested positive in the last six months; And, in this context, the Serbian tennis player would have no problems since he was infected on December 16 and the half-year of immunity would end on June 16.

Novak Djokovic made the decision not to get vaccinated, therefore – after a long legal conflict in between and due to Australia’s measures – the ATP number one was left out of the Australian Open.
