Keyboard shortcuts: what are the Alt and AltGr keys for?

Despite the constant use that is given to the keyboardthere are few users who know the main functions with which this type of commands were created.

To begin with, it should be noted that the term “Alt” comes from the English word alternate and the point of the Alt key being pressed in conjunction with another key is for the operating system to ignore the basic function of this other key and a different command instead, altering the original tool.

Which indicates that this key will execute a command in the operating system only if it is used with a different key.

Nevertheless, confusion can occur between the Alt and AltGr keys due to their resemblance. But for the sake of clarity for users, the Alt key allows you to execute different commands using other shortcuts.

For its part, the AltGr key gives the option to access a third function which will be programmed by the developers according to the type of computer they have available.
