IOS 16: always active screen on the iPhone and the functions that would come to the new operating system

The latest update to the Apple-developed operating system, iOS 16, will include Always-On Display functionality for future releases from the brand, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, according to analyst Mark Gurman.

This display mode, known as Always On Display (AOD)allows you to keep the screen constantly active to show some data such as the date, time, a certain image or notifications.

It does so without consuming excessive energy from the telephone, since this mode only uses the pixels on the screen that are needed to display the necessary information. The rest, those that are not used, are kept off.

According to the latest edition of its ‘Power On’ bulletin, the Bloomberg analyst points out that the US manufacturer plans to present this functionality integrated into iOS 16version with which your next iPhone will work.

Specifically, it will be the models iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Maxwith the code names D73 and D74, respectively, those that carry this always-on screen mode or AOD as standard.

On the other hand, Gurman has pointed out that iOS 16 will come with “a host of OS-wide changes, including notification updatesiPad multitasking and the Messages and Health applications”, according to the MacRumors newsletter.

The analyst has also recalled that the latest version of Apple’s ‘smartphone’ will present a series of functions for its lock screen, as well as wallpapers with capabilities similar to those of ‘widgets’, something that he already announced a few days ago .

These would be some of the novelties of ‘software’ integrated in the latest iPhone models that, as this analyst has been advancing in recent months, could include a pill-shaped hole to integrate FaceID sensors, instead of the usual ‘notch‘ Of the brand.

These Gurman advances occur a few days before the start of Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which will take place this year from June 6 to 10 in an exclusively online format.

At this event, the company will highlight the latest innovations in operating systems iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS.
