The Pixel 7 hasn’t been released yet… but it’s already on sale on eBay

While Google was to unveil its new high-end Pixel 7 smartphone next fall, a prototype of the latter went on sale on eBay on Monday, reports Numerama. After the publication of a video test well before the release of a product or the forgetting by an employee of a Pixel Watch not yet unveiled in an American restaurant… this is a new blunder of from the Silicon Valley giant.

According to our colleagues, who relayed information from several American media including 9to5google, the photo of the Pixel 7 sold on eBay was even taken by… a Pixel 7, whose design appeared in the reflection of the smartphone. The prototype of the new device appeared for several hours on eBay before the listing was pulled.

Repeated leaks

These repeated leaks are said to be due to Google’s lack of experience in managing hardware fleets. Software specialist, the American giant would take risks by revealing its products too early and by delivering, probably, certain prototypes to its partners several months in advance.

It remains to be seen whether this Pixel 7 sold on eBay was a real product. False photos or a montage could have been made for the occasion, but this hypothesis seems unlikely. Especially since the Pixel seems to have been photographed by another identical product, displaying the characteristic logo of Google prototypes on the back.
