Laptops: the best-selling brands in Peru

Demand for laptop in the country has been increasing over the years due to the need to use it at work or studies. According to a report from Customs (SUNAT)the importation of this device has grown by 20% in the first quarter of this year alone.

There have been 339,728 laptops that have arrived in the country until the month of March. Compared to 2021, it they have brought 56,580 more laptops to be sold in the Peruvian market. This demand shows us which are the brands that are most requested in Peru.

In first place is the Chinese company Lenovo with 117,581 units. This figure is 54.5% more laptops of the same brand than those that were imported in the same quarter of 2021. For its part, in second place is the American HP with 110,215 units brought to the country. Compared to last year, this only added 10.9% more demand.

In third place, well below the first two positions, is the Taiwanese company Acer with 39,228 units. Although it is not at the same level of demand as Lenovo or HP, it has rebounded with 39.3% more imported laptops compared to 2021.

The other brands vary in their comparison with last year. The Chinese brand Asus, for example, rose 9.9% in 2022. Huawei did its thing with 31%, MSI increased by 16.7% and Dell only rose 0.4%. The brands that have been most affected this year are Apple with -64.5% and Advance with -63.5%compared to 2021.
