Mr. Sega dies, the remembered face in the Dreamcast console commercials

The family of Hidekazu Yukawa, former managing director of SEGA at the time of the launch of the Dreamcast console, it has announced the death of the also known as Mr. Sega at the age of 78 years.

The environment close to the manager has announced his death a year after his death, in June 2021when he died due to complications from pneumonia.

The deceased assumed the position of CEO of Sega in 1998, when he became one of the company’s visible faces thanks to his participation in promotional announcements for the Dreamcast console.

This is the sixth and last console produced by this publisher, which was developed together with Hitachi and Microsoft and released in 1998. Its production was curtailed in March 2001.

Another of his interventions came with the ‘What’s Shenmue’ demo, which was given away to those who booked the first installment of the video game of the same name, a disc in which the protagonist of the saga, Ryo Hazuki, had to chase Yukawa and save him from a criminal gang.
