An Ipsos survey for the World Economic Forum revealed that 93% of Peruvians feel familiar with virtual reality. Likewise, it was also found that 82% of the population of Peru feel the same way with augmented reality.
“More than two-thirds of people in China, India, Peru, Saudi Arabia, and Colombia say they are excited to participate in XR (an acronym for Extended Reality, or Extended Reality in Spanish), compared to less than a third in Japan, Great Britain, Belgium, Canada, France and Germany, ”said the World Economic Forum .

Likewise, the agency indicated which age group is the most familiar. “As expected, younger adults are more familiar with new technologies and view them more favorably. Also those with a higher level of education are more positive about the metaverse”, he added.
Regarding the expectations of those surveyed about these new technologies, the research found that they are related to work, entertainment and studies. “Respondents expect that applications that use the metaverse have a growing impact on people’s daily lives over the next decade. The biggest changes are likely to be felt in virtual learning, entertainment, and virtual work environmentspeople feel,” said the agency.
The survey was conducted between April and May 2022, taking into account the opinions of more than 21,000 adults, ages 18 to 74. It also talks about familiarity with the term ‘Metaverse’. Turkey is the country that leads the survey with 94% familiarity with virtual reality84% with augmented reality and 86% with metaverse.
