Google Assistant: new ideas to get the most out of it by saying “OK Google”

Although it is already about five years in development, the google assistant continues to give more surprises to users of smartphones or other mobile devices. Also know as “ok google”the software is based on artificial intelligence to make life easier.

The assistant can be useful and also fun. You can play, search for information, remember your agenda, among other things. This can be seen on compatible Android phones, TVs, watches, or smart speakers. All this with the use of the voice.

How does it work? The assistant can start conversations and solve any doubts you have. To get started, you must first open the app and configure: More > Settings > Google Assistant > Explore. There you can select each option of interest, then you can also set the control of applications such as Netflix, Spotify or YouTube, phone functions such as Calls or Messages or topics of interest such as Sports or Weather.

After those previous steps, you can enjoy the wizard more. Here are some questions you can ask yourself by saying “OK Google” to play or to take advantage of a moment of distraction:

– Ok Google, shall we play something?

– Ok Google, play a game.

– Ok Google, let’s play Crystal Ball.

– Ok Google, let’s play questions and answers.

– Ok Google, let’s play Feel Lucky.

– Ok Google, give me a random number.

– Ok Google, flip a coin.

– Ok Google, play Hangman.

– Ok Google, heads or tails.

– Ok Google, let’s play rock, paper, scissors.

In case you want to pass the time with some stories or jokes, the Google Assistant has several options. You can even be asked to select some songs of our preference or one for special occasions such as the birthday song. These are other formulas to start the conversation with the assistant.

– Ok Google, tell me a joke.

– Ok Google, give me a compliment.

– Ok Google, sing me a serenade.

– Ok Google, tell me a curious fact.

– Okay Google, surprise me.

– Hey Google, tell me more.

– Hey Google, riddle.

– Hey Google, tell me a story.

– Hey Google, tell me a scary story.

– Hey Google, sing me happy birthday.

– Hey Google, sing me Las mañanitas.

– Hey Google, sing me a song.

On the other hand, the Google Assistant will also allow us to control the options of the device or other devices connected wirelessly. You can raise or lower the brightness, turn on the light, raise or lower the volume, among other options.

– Ok Google, turn WiFi on (or off).

– Turn Bluetooth on (or off).

– Activate (or deactivate) airplane mode.

– Turn on (or off) the flashlight.

– Ok Google, put the phone on silent.

– Mute phone.

– Increase (or decrease) the volume.

– Turn up (or down) the brightness.

– Turn off the screen.

– Ok Google, take a picture.

– Ok Google, record a video.

– Open (and the name of the application).

– Call (name of contact).

– Make a video call with (contact name).

– Send a message to (contact) and tell them (message).

– Ok Google, send a WhatsApp to (contact) and tell him (message).

Another feature of the Google Assistant is to remember the agenda for the day. You can set alarms, shopping lists or tasks, notices, appointments, meetings, all the agenda that we have. On the other hand, we can also remember routines of the day such as receiving the information of the day, the battery level and even reading the most important news to be updated.

– Ok Google, set an alarm for 10.

– Let me know in 20 minutes.

– Let me know every day at 9 in the morning.

– 5 minute countdown.

– Ok Google, remember me (whatever) (whatever day and time it is).

– Create a shopping list for (store).

– Add milk to the shopping list.

– Okay Google, good morning.

– Goodnight.
