Since the pandemic began in 2020, delivery applications and video games have taken a prominent role in their respective fields. With the gamer as the main objective, PlayStation Y rappi announced the sale of gift cards for the PlayStation Store virtual store through the Rappi Turbo service.
The service is available from June 6th for users of rappi via Turboa modality that promises deliveries in less than 10 minutes.

But, what are gift cards? It is a card preloaded with a specific amount of money with which we can make different purchases. In the specific case of PlayStation cards, we can add balance to our account and purchase video games, downloadable content (DLC), battle passes or the PlayStation Plus subscription.
Likewise, the prices that PlayStation manages through rappi for your cards are as follows: US$10 (S/.49.00), US$20 (S/.99.00) and US$50 (S/.249.00).
Before the arrival of this service, gamers with accounts of PlayStation In Peru they had two ways to add balance to their accounts: with gift cards on resale or using a credit card. In both cases, users have to pay a premium.

—What is the alliance with PlayStation? How does it operate?
The alliance consists of the sale of PlayStation gift cards through Rappi in its Turbo mode, [que promete] deliveries in less than 10 minutes. It is the first time in Peru that PlayStation launches gift cards, and it did not have an official distributor. Both Rappi and PlayStation want video game lovers to have another option to access their products through Turbo.
—What is the objective behind Rappi’s initiative with PlayStation?
We aim to benefit more than 2.5 million users PlayStation Peruvians who with just one click can access the gift cards for the PlayStation Store Peru, which until now was not available.
We know that Peruvians seek to be more entertained, which is why we seek to facilitate access to gaming, through Playstation.

—How does the Rappi Turbo system work? How do they manage to deliver in 10 minutes?
This model allows the orders to be ready in less than two minutes, thanks to an operational work in which all the products are ordered, fresh and in perfect condition within the dark stores prepared for this purpose. Thus, the associated delivery person, chosen for its proximity within a radius of less than 1.5 kilometers, can pick it up safely and make the delivery in the estimated time of 10 minutes.
With Turbo, users have access to 1,500 mass consumption items such as pantry products, personal and baby care, liquor, refrigerated, home, delicatessen, among others.
-What are the dark stores?
Also known as a hidden store, it is a store that is dedicated to selling products 100% virtually. The dark store they are strategically located in different parts of the city to offer users a different shopping experience. Instead of going to a supermarket or a grocery store, they can order from the app and receive it within a certain period.

—Why did you decide to bet on the gift cards?
For this collaboration we identify which are the most important companies in one of the fastest growing niches at the industry level, which are eSports. And PlayStation has a niche of high-value users, which is very much in line with the current user of Rappi.
—What are your expectations regarding sales of gift cards for this year? Do you have any numbers?
We hope to place 40,000 gift cards to December of this year.
-What is the scope of the sale of Rappi gift cards? Only in Lima?
The offer is available in Lima. We are working on great projects so that thousands of people can access Turbo soon.
