Hacked Tesla approached 350 km/h and set record at Canadian airport

They had to close three kilometers from an airport in Canada so that a Tesla modified can reach the extraordinary figure of 348 km / h, the highest speed recorded to date by a vehicle of this manufacturer.

The feat was achieved at the Trois-Rivières airport in Quebec. The vehicle in question was a Tesla Model S Plaid and up to three modifications were made. First, the speed limit of 282 km/h imposed by the manufacturer was eliminated; then the brakes were changed for bigger ones and high performance tires were used.

All these changes were made by Canadian businessman Guillaume André, through his company Ingenext, dedicated to modifying vehicles, such as the Tesla Model S Plaid, whose system had to be hacked.

But what took him the most work was to get a wide track to carry out the test and, despite being three kilometers from the airport, the car needed almost the entire track to decelerate.

Finally, the test was achieved after several attempts, since the previous tests had been frustrated precisely because of the lack of space. Everything was recorded in a YouTube video, where you can see how the vehicle went from 0 to 300 km/h in just 18 seconds, and the maximum speed of 348 km/h was reached in 24.73 seconds. For many, the sound left by the vehicle was similar to that of an airplane.
