Elon Musk is under federal investigation amid the swing for the purchase of the social network Twitter. The businessman’s situation was revealed in a court file from the Delaware courthouse.

In a brief filed with the court by Twitter, the social network states that Musk is under federal investigation, although Twitter does not specify what the focus of the investigation is. “This game of ‘hide the ball’ must end”, the social network said in the file.

“Elon Musk is currently under investigation by federal authorities for his conduct in connection with the Twitter acquisition. Through his lawyer, he has exchanged relevant correspondence with those authorities in relation to their investigations.”, the writing continues. “Twitter wants those documents, because they have to do with key issues in this litigation”.

Twitter demands that the emails between Musk and the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) be shared, in addition to some slides sent to the Federal Trade Commission that the businessman’s lawyers did not want to reveal.

Elon Musk had canceled the purchase of Twitter, so the social network sued him to force him to fulfill his part of the deal. Now, the billionaire has returned to encourage the agreement for the original price, days before the trial to which he was subjected.
