The government has announced the renewal of the communication equipment of the emergency and security services, as announced by Emmanuel Macron in 2017. This Thursday, the Ministry of the Interior thus unveiled the “Radio Network of the Future” intended to replace equipment dating from the 1990s, report our colleagues from BFM TV.
This system will provide 4G and 5G equipment to firefighters or police officers to allow them to communicate instantly between the field and the command rooms.

A system that must be operational for Paris 2024
In total, around 300,000 agents will benefit from new features such as live position sharing, video calls or even sending electrocardiograms. The total amount of this system will amount to 2 billion euros, financed within the framework of the orientation and programming law of the Ministry of the Interior which is currently being debated in the Senate.
The construction of this “Radio Network of the Future” began last September and the system should be operational “for the hosting of the Olympic Games in Paris” in 2024, as declared by the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin. The public market for the implementation of the system was won by Bouygues Telecom, Airbus, Orange, Atos and Capgemini.
