Claro currently has the highest mobile internet speed in Peru, according to Speedtest analysis

Claro continues to be the operator that offers the highest speed of mobile Internet in Peru. According to Ookla’s Speedtest analysis, it has a download speed of 21.94 Mbps in the third quarter of 2022. Movistar and Entel are behind with almost 6 Mbps less.

“Speedtest Intelligence reveals that among the top mobile providers in Peru in the third quarter of 2022, Claro delivered the fastest average download speed at 21.94 Mbps”, indicates the analysis of Speedtest.

In second and third place are Movistar and Entel in a technical tie. They respectively have an average download of 15.79 and 15.73 Mbps. Finally, in fourth place, is Bitel, with 12.77 Mbps, almost 10 less than Claro. The study has a confidence level of 95%.

Likewise, the analysis measured the operators’ consistency. “By measuring the consistency of the performance of each operator, we find that Claro had the highest consistency in Peru during the third quarter of 2022, with 75.4% of the results showing at least one minimum download speed of 5 Mbps and a minimum upload speed of 1 Mbps”, adds Speedtest.

According to Ookla’s analytics service, consistency is the metric they use to identify mobile networks that provide consistent quality of service. It reflects the percentage of a provider’s data samples that meet minimum upload and download speed thresholdsdepending on the type of network. “The more consistent a provider is, the more likely a consumer is to enjoy acceptable internet quality and performance”, he indicates.

Claro leads this list with 75.4%while in second place is Movistar with 72.7%. Bitel takes third place with 71.7% consistency, while Entel is in the fourth and last position with 70.1%.

In the first and second quarter of 2022, Claro also led the Speedtest analyzes and was recognized by Ookla in the Speedtest Award. In the first half of this year, the operator reached a score of 33.81 Mbps.
