A group of researchers from Stockholm University and the University of Malmö in Sweden have succeeded in using the sense of smell in virtual reality gamessomething that will take the experience beyond what was known until today.
The game proposes wine tasting, in which you get points for guessing the correct aromas. This could even become part of the PlayStation VR2 platform and the promising Meta virtual reality.

However, for the research group its use is not limited to entertainment. Jonas Olofsson is the teacher who leads the research and pointed out that the sense of smell is the protagonist of this new experience.
An odor machine has been built for this technique, reported the Infobae page. This consists of four valves and a fan is installed in the center of the device. The system is controlled from a computer.
“In the same way that the computer game becomes more difficult the better the player becomes, this smell game can also challenge users who already have a sensitive nose,” said the Stockholm University professor.
The other form of use is in the medical field. The scent machine could be used to train people who have lost their sense of smell after being infected with the coronavirus.
