The face of an ant seen up close (and 10 other microscopic photos that left us cold)

Multiple users of Twitter Y Reddit They were surprised to see the Photography in an extreme close-up of an ant’s face. Searching for the origin of the photo, it was learned that it is part of the 2022 Nikon Small World Photomicrography Contest, which also includes other surprising participants.

The author of the peculiar photo is Eugenijus Kavaliauskas, a photographer of Lithuanian origin who, despite not having won the contest, became famous in networks for his popular capture of an ant.

“It seemed boring to me to take a picture of an ant banally running on the ground, so I took one and put it under a microscope. I am always looking for details, shadows and invisible corners. The main objective of photography is to be a discoverer” Kavaliauskas explained about the choice of the objective of his camera, in an interview for the ‘Insider’ media.
