Google Chrome says goodbye to updates in Windows 7 next year

Google announced that in the year 2023, Chrome will no longer be compatible with Windows 7. The company announced the release of a new update that will be the last to be compatible with that system of microsoft.

Through the Google support page, the company announced that they are about to launch Chrome 110, the new browser update.

Although it will be available for users with Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 systems, it will be the last time because for future updates will only be available on later systems.

“You will need to make sure your device run Windows 10 or later to continue receiving future versions of Chrome. This coincides with Microsoft’s end of support for Windows 7 ESU and extended support for Windows 8.1 on January 10, 2023.”he pointed.

The browser will continue to work after version 110, but will not receive future updates. So if the user still has one of these systems, the company recommends updating it “to ensure you continue to receive the latest Chrome security and feature updates”.
