Since last Tuesday Manzana introduced an advertising system within its virtual store App Store. However, the negative comments from both developers and the general public did not stop, as they criticized the new application recommendation system.
The ad strategy of Manzana it’s based on show app advertising in the virtual store as we can see today. What has been criticized about the company with the bitten apple was that -for example- when looking for applications against gambling addiction, bookmakers or slot machines were recommended.

In a statement sent to MacRumors, an Apple spokesperson indicated that paused ads in the App Store related to gambling and other categories on the product pages of the virtual store. According to the media, it is not known if it is a definitive or temporary measure, so it could be re-implemented in the future with updates.
There have been several cases that we have seen on social networks, but most of them were developers criticizing the recommendation system, which could also affect minors.

It should be noted that advertising in applications is not only in those created by third parties, since in native apps such as Books it has been possible to identify advertisements for video call services for adults.

Apple itself in its rules of the app store points out that topics such as gambling, alcohol, dating or pharmaceuticals are restricted from ads, but this only works in countries where the law so determines. In other words, there is a legal vacuum that is used by advertisers to continue advertising their applications.
