The technology company seeks to mitigate the large memory consumption that Chrome makes through a novelty that has appeared in the test version of the browser, Chrome Canary, as a user on Reddit has warned.
LOOK: Google Chrome is the browser with the most vulnerabilities in its cybersecurity system, according to a study
This novelty, which can be activated from the configuration settings, will save memory on inactive tabs. In this way, when it detects that one or more tabs have not been used for a long time, it will free memory from them so that it can be used in other tabs or applications.
When this feature is active, it will be displayed by a new icon in the Chrome address bar, with the shape. The dialog window will also show how much memory has been freed from a given inactive tab.
