YouTube Music and Premium have achieved 30 million subscribers in just one year

Youtube Music and YouTube Premium together have amassed 30 million subscribers in one year. This figure is added to the 50 million reported in 2021, consolidating 80 million users who have a subscription to these versions of the video platform.

YouTube’s Music and Premium services added 30 million global paid subscribers over the course of about a year, bringing the total to 80 million. This marks a huge jump from the 50 million subscribers that YouTube reported last September, as more users look to gain access to the benefits that come with either service.”, reported The Verge.

In September 2021, the news was that he had achieved 20 million subscribers in 12 months. “These new numbers indicate that YouTube Music and Premium are growing even faster this year than last. In last year’s report, YouTube said it added 20 million subscribers across its two services in just one year.”, adds the medium.

Despite this great growth, YouTube has not confirmed how many subscribers specifically each version of the platform has had. “Google doesn’t break out its numbers in any of the reports, so it’s unclear which features users subscribe to and how many subscribers each individual service has.. It also includes those in free trials, further muddying the numbers.”, adds the North American portal.

For this reason, YouTube Music cannot be compared with the competition, since an exact number of subscribers has not been made public. “It’s hard to know how YouTube Music compares to other streaming music services.as we don’t know how many subscribers are split between the two YouTube services, and Apple Music and Amazon Music are equally discrete”, he concludes.

YouTube Music costs $9.99 a month and only allows access to a catalog of streaming music, listening to music offline and playback with the cell phone locked. YouTube Premium, meanwhile, costs $11.99 a month and includes videos without ads, offline downloads and background playback. In addition, it includes YouTube Music and YouTube Kids.
