Toulouse: drawings will soon be sent into space to draw attention to the role of satellites

The top fifteen drawings will receive space tickets! Until December 25th, the Toulouse company Kinéis and the Cité de l’Espace in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) will organize a competition called “Your drawing in space” for children and teenagers. Therefore, young artists are invited to draw the theme “Satellites to better understand and protect the Earth” to reflect on the role of satellites in the fight against global warming and to see the evolution and upheavals that the Earth and people are facing. .

“This drawing competition is part of Cité de l’Espace’s commitment to raising public awareness of the space sector and familiarizing them with its environmental applications,” explains CEO Jean-Baptiste Debois. Kinéis, partner of Cité de l’Espace, follows the same educational approach. »

Drawings must conform to the template available on the application form in order to be submitted directly to the site. The competition is divided into three categories: public for young people aged 6 to 17, presented by an adult parent, schools for grades CP to terminale, and finally partners. A jury will convene in January to select fifteen winning designs to be engraved on aluminum blocks and then placed on fifteen satellites of the Kinéis constellation, which will be launched in 2023. The results will be announced on January 5, 2023.
