Xiaomi launches MIUI 14, the operating system that promises to improve the fluidity of the cell phone by up to 60%

Xiaomi has presented the new version of its MIUI 14 software, based on Android 13which improves fluidity by up to 60% compared to its previous version and which already includes its new devices such as the Xiaomi 13 Pro smartphone and the Xiaomi Watch S2.

This new version, which will be updated on more models and devices soon, introduces improvements and new features, such as a reduction in system occupancy with only eight applications that cannot be uninstalled. In this way, the space occupied by the operating system in the form of pre-installed apps is reduced.

Only some essential apps such as settings, phone, camera or contacts will remain fixed. Likewise, Xiaomi has also reduced the firmware by 23% and has included some functions such as merging duplicate files or automatic compression for applications that are not used very frequently.

With all that, The Chinese company aims to improve both the fluidity and the experience with the applications and, as he has stressed, he has achieved it by up to 60% compared to the previous version of his system. For this, he has made “surgery on the underlying Android kernel”as it has arranged, with functions that help the system such as the recognition of intelligent scenes, dynamic resource scheduling and the resource calculation engine.

In addition, this new MIUI 14 version has also made its applications more efficient for the battery, for example, in the case of watching videos on TikTok, consumption decreases by 22% and the fluidity improvement is 87%.

Another of the changes that this new operating system presents is the design. Xiaomi has redesigned some applications such as the calculator or the clock, and has also changed the notification panel and quick settings.

As for the desk, offers four different sizes for icons, as well as new variable designs and floral decorations or pets, with which to interact while the user navigates between applications. With that, the company aims to bring a greater personalization experience.

Xiaomi has also given an important role to security in MIUI 14. According to the company, guarantees fully local computing through the device itself that does not include data in the cloud. For this, it has indicated that this system has obtained the certification accredited by Thiel Labs in the areas of privacy and security.

Based on this privacy technology, MIUI 14 is capable of recognizing text in images locally, a recognition “faster and more accurate”, as explained by Xiaomi.
