Microsoft has announced that the next update to Authenticator for iOS, coming in January 2023, will end support for watchOS, the operating system that runs on Apple Watch wearables.

Microsoft Authenticator is a app that offers multi-factor authentication, passwordless login, or password autofill for login quickly and securely in different online accounts.
The company recently announced that the upcoming release of Authenticator in January 2023 for iOS will not have a companion app for watchOS smartwatches, due to the fact that “is incompatible with the security features of Authenticator”as detailed on the support website.

From Microsoft they point out that, due to this discontinuation, You will not be able to install or use Authenticator on Apple Watchso that recommend that this ‘wearable’ service be removed. Authenticator, however, will continue to be available for all other Apple devices, such as iPhone and iPad.
