Traveling to ancient Egypt without leaving home has already been a reality since last November 22, when the team of Egyptian designers and creatives from the Tutera hub launched the initial phase of Metatut, a virtual city that reconstructs architecture, art and places symbolic of the era of Tutankhamen in the metaverse.

The date is not accidental, it coincides with the centenary of the discovery of the tomb of the Egyptian pharaoh by the British archaeologist Howard Carter and, in this case, it is the starting point of a virtual city that presents the spirit of the ancient Egyptian civilization in a futuristic and innovative space.

This project was developed in the facilities of Cube Consultants, an architecture studio whose headquarters, in the northeast of Cairo, became the development center of the virtual city with the intervention of graphic designers, computer scientists, architects and developers who applied his ingenuity to make Metatut a reality.

Blueprints, designs and sketches flash across the many screens that occupy the studio adjacent to the presentation room, where executive managers gather to check out the latest updates on characters roaming the new sets and landscapes.

Tutera’s executive manager, Heba Soliman, told EFE that “Metatut is the future city of Tut in the virtual world and simulates the ancient Egyptian civilization in multiple forms and dimensions.”.

According to Soliman, “The idea of ​​creating the city of Metatut is to live a unique experience that combines Egyptian civilization in a modern environment.“, in which “visitors can live, entertain, trade, study and do business in the fields of real life, but also in an imaginary world”.

The project, led by the president of the board of directors of Tutera, Ashraf Abdel Mohsen, had a multidisciplinary team to develop each of the scenarios and areas that make up this virtual city, which aspires to become a meeting point in the metaverse .

Metatut has several objectives, among which is to activate technological applications in the creation of a new virtual lifestyle that transcends the limits of space-time to achieve the highest economic performance.”, affirmed to EFE the executive manager of Metatut, Khaled Radwan.

To this he added the intention of “lay the foundations of a virtual urban assemblage that mixes history and the future as in Back to the Future“, as well as “create a parallel world that draws the charm of ancient Egyptian civilization in a modern and imaginary way”.

Radwan highlighted that in this virtual city “The visitor or user can live a unique and charming experience and allow them to invest in it by buying, selling, renting elements (land, buildings, spaces) to carry out any activity, be it commercial, residential, recreational, administrative, educational, health or even industrial.”.

He himself was one of the first to experience first-hand the experience of touring Metatut through virtual reality glasses and two controllers with which he controlled his avatar in the afterlife of the metaverse.

THE PHASES OF METATUT

Tutera presented the first stage of the virtual city on November 30, when he inaugurated the Avenida de los Reyes, a representation of the Valley of the Kings that includes the Camino Real that leads to the Great Pyramid, which houses a city with educational and research centers.

Metatut expanded on December 12 with the launch of the second phase and the opening of the Hall of the Sun (Aten Hall) and the Palace of King Akhenaten; while the third stage was published on December 28 with the presentation of Queen Nefertiti’s Palace and her salons, intended for the fashion of the time, beauty and everything related to women.

This event also featured an exclusive performance by Egyptian soprano Amira Selim, who presented her new love song “Merut Ek” in Metatut, coinciding with the inauguration of Nefertiti’s Palace and a high culture show.

From Tutera they will soon announce new scenarios and functions through their social networks, and they insist on the Metatut revolution for educational centers such as schools and universities; museums and exhibitions, festivals and fairs, in addition to defining it as a meeting and meeting space.
