Google has stopped offering updates Chrome for Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1 versions this Tuesday, January 10, to make way for the launch of the new version of the browser, Chrome 110.
The company reported last October that, due to the introduction of the new version of Chrome, it would suspend support for both versions of Windows and would require that those interested in continuing to use the browser have computers from Windows 10.

All computers that are not updated to Windows 10 or later will continue to work with previous versions of Chrome, as stated in that statement at the time.
The company plans to release Chrome 110 on February 7, which already requires Windows 10.which will no longer be compatible with Windows 7 or 8/8.1, coinciding with the end of extended support for these operating systems.

This means that starting this Tuesday, January 10, devices running Windows 7 and 8/8.1 will become increasingly vulnerable to bugs, malware, and other security risks. Also, these computers will also not be able to get the latest functionality and features of Chrome.
So, the technology manufacturer has recommended Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1 users to update their systems and get a compatible version of Windows (Windows 10 or 11), in order to continue receiving the latest browser updates.
