Microsoft Teams will start charging for certain standard features in its new Premium service

Microsoft will launch in February the Premium version of its collaboration solution teams and with this it will withdraw some of the features of the standard version to offer them within the Premium license.

The live translation subtitles, time markers of meeting recordings and customization of ‘Scenes’ in ‘Together’ mode are three of the features that will no longer be available under a Teams license.

Three virtual dating features will also change licenses: SMS notifications, organization analytics in the admin center, and scheduled queue viewas stated by Microsoft in the document related to Microsoft Teams Premium licenses.

After the 30-day trial period that Microsoft will offer Premium, once it launches in February, “users will lose access to features previously available in Teams without the Teams Premium plugin, unless the administrator purchases and assigns Teams Premium licenses to their users”, details the company.
