The electric mobility It has opened many spaces, and one of them is the autonomous driving of vehicles. But it’s not just about cars or for public transport and cargo. The construction sector is also experiencing this change in technology with skid steers 100% electric and autonomous.

The Botcat company, specialized in the construction of heavy equipment for agriculture and construction, has presented two proposals: the S7X and Rogue X. Both will soon be released on the market and would change the labor sector.

They were presented in Las Vegas, at the CONEXPO exhibition, reported the Hybrid and Electric page. The S7X is a more concrete proposition. It works with a 60.5 kWh battery that powers four electric motors and offers an autonomy of around 8 hours of work. It is a skid loader that offers silence when working, comfort, smoothness and almost non-existent vibration.

Instead, the Rogue X is a more futuristic vehicle. The model lacks a cabin since it does not need to be controlled by a driver: it is totally autonomous, and it moves through caterpillars made especially for this vehicle, which is why they belong to “a category of their own”.

What is the purpose of these vehicles? In the case of the Rogue X, what is sought is to carry out work in which humans are in particular danger. But, for the moment, the idea is to attract the interest of customers and it is expected that in a few years they will be able to hit the market.
