GigaBier: Tesla launches its own Cybertruck-inspired beer

During 2021, Elon Musk announced that Tesla would produce a beer called “Gigabier”, which would have a container inspired by the cyber truck. Currently, this drink is available in a special edition.

The company thus explains the flavor of the Gigabier in a tasting note published on its website:

“Tesla GigaBier is designed to emulate the shape of the Cybertruck while honoring the 500-year tradition of German Reinheitsgebot beer brewing. Enjoy this limited edition pilsner-style beer brewed in Berlin with our exclusive variety of Cyberhops and notes of citrus, bergamot and sweet fruits. Each beer is packaged in a non-marking, glossy black sleeve with a glow-in-the-dark Giga watermark. Prost!”

The website where you can buy the drink refers to the Reinheitsgebot, a German law dating back to Bavaria in 1516 that states that beer can only contain water, barley and hops. Although it is currently considered a quality standard for German beers, it was actually created to ensure the supply of bread, protecting the raw materials used in its production (wheat and yeast) and preventing breweries from hoarding these ingredients. Currently, the law has been expanded to allow other ingredients, such as yeast, wheat and coriander.

The Gigabier is produced in Berlin and has a lager style, specifically pilsner.. The company describes its flavor as having notes of citrus, bergamot and sweet fruits.

The Cybertruck-inspired beer is sold in packs of three bottles of 330 ml each, with a price of 89 euros and can only be purchased if you are of legal age. Currently, it is only available in the European market.

This is Tesla’s second foray into drinks, as the company launched Tesla Tequila a few years ago and sold out in record time; used bottles were sold on eBay and other sites for more than $1,000. Musk wanted it to be called “Teslaquila”, but the Mexican government did not let him distort the name because it has a denomination of origin.
