HBO Max will become ‘Max’ on May 23: what will be the new plans with this change?

Warner Bros. has announced that HBO Max and Discovery+ will merge to become Max, the streaming platform that will have the content of both applications. The service was confirmed this Wednesday, April 12, and will have the series, movies, and documentaries from HBO, CNN, TNT, Discovery, among others.

The date it will be given the change is next May 23, which will initially affect the United States. Warner Bros. has not yet provided information on the other regions, so it is unknown on what date HBO Max will be called just Max in Latin America. Besides, there will be new plans with different features.

What will Max’s plans and costs be?

As revealed by the company, there will be three price levels. These are not yet confirmed for all regions, so they may only be available initially in the United States.

What will happen to my HBO Max plan when Max launches?

HBO Max and Discovery+ content will move to Max. However, Discovery+ will still be available to purchase separately, while Warner’s service will no longer. If you currently have an HBO Max subscription, you still you will continue to pay the same up to 6 months after the official launch in your region.

After this period of time, Max will force users to choose one of the plans, in case all these reach the different regions. The streaming service will give subscribers advance notice so they can make an informed decision.
