The Netherlands announced that this month it will begin to install a cycle lane with solar panels integrated in the province of Brabant, along 500 meters, as part of a test for subsequent projects.
The goal is to make the most of the space with this solution to decarbonize the region. And it is that the use of the bicycle in this region is quite widespread.

According to a report from the Motor Pasion page, the Brabant solar lane will carry some 600 solar panels integrated into the pavement and will be tested for five years. During this period, the resistance of solar modules to mechanical stress applied by pedestrians and cyclists will be evaluated.
You also can’t help but look at the investment. And it is that in Europe there is a tendency to take advantage of space by installing solar panels, as happened in Germany with its covered cycle path that has this technology. Work is also being done on railway infrastructures, highways and waterways.
In addition, according to the report, the Netherlands lacks large and free land to install large photovoltaic plants. That is why we work in every accessible space.
