A youtuber disarms the new Apple fast charger: what did he find?

Although all the attention was stolen by the 15-inch MacBook Air, the new USB-C power adapter He didn’t lag behind either. The model has been called a “engineering marvel” by some experts and technology pages.

Recently, the ChargerLAB YouTube channel was given the task of revealing all the hardware components that are hidden behind the fast charger. From the heat sink to the capacitors, fuses and transformers, the digital content creator explored each part of the company’s new bet.

Like the rest of the adapters, this charger comes in its usual packaging and without any cables. Its shape is square and has round corners, while the company logo remains on the front. The maximum voltage, according to the indications on the box, is 20.6 volts and 3.4 amps, which translates to 70 W.

According to ChargerLAB, the size of the power adapter is 65 x 65 x 28.5 millimeters and its weight ranges from 165 grams. “The new model, in addition to being more powerful, is also smaller and is better protected against interference,” details the aforementioned portal.

In around eight minutes, the aforementioned YouTube channel shows and details the product’s specifications. Once depth has been made in each part, the specialist maintains that the power adapter has a “very compact internal design”. The charger is compatible with 12 MacBook Pros, including the 15-inch (2023), 13-inch (2022), M1 (2020), MacBook Retina 12-inch (Early 2015-2017), and many others.

“Apple recommends using it with the 13-inch or 15-inch MacBook Air with M2 chip, 13-inch MacBook Pro (2016 and later), or 14-inch MacBook Pro. Use it with a MacBook Air with M2 chip to get the most out of fast charging and reach 50% battery in about 30 minutes”explains the company on its website.
