Chrome on Android: you can now take screenshots in incognito mode

Google is working on the ability to take a screenshot in Chrome for Android in incognito mode, an improved feature that will prevent exposing recent queries.

The screenshot in the incognito mode of Chrome for Android, far from recording the content that is being viewed at that moment, shows a completely black screen. This privacy measure can be circumvented since Chrome 88, through a triggerable flag feature.

However, the solution introduced in 2020 by Google exposes the latest user queries from an incognito tab in the recents section, precisely what a new flag feature being tested in Canary seeks to avoid, as Android expert Mishaal Rahman has warned. and shared on Twitter.

The new flag, dubbed ‘Improved Incognito Screenshots’, has appeared in Android 13+ and enables incognito screenshots “except when the user is in the recents screen”.
