Microliner, an electric plane that carries batteries in the wings and that would revolutionize private jets

The electromobility It is already in all fields of transport. An example is this new electric plane called Microliner and which poses a revolution in private jets, considered one of the polluting agents in this sector.

The project is developed by the clean technology startup Vaeridion, which works in Munich (Germany). It is a project that could be ready in 2030 and brings together other companies such as Customcells, cylib and Saluqi Motors.

And what’s so special? At a technological level, it is a conventional takeoff and landing aircraft, reported the Ecoinventos page. That is, there is not much change on that side, unlike other proposals.

The curious thing is in the energy storage. The battery packs are proposed to be directly in the wings, with the entire nine-seater aircraft optimised. This will make it possible for it to have a range of 500 km.

The project is carried out with Customcells, and ensures that batteries with an energy density of up to 350 watt-hours per kilogram can be produced. This would be enough for nine people on board, plus luggage.

And the segment they have chosen is private jets. Because? As detailed, a Transport & Environment study shows that private jets are 5 to 14 times more harmful to the environment than commercial aircraft and up to 50 times more than trains.
