Electric cars: Europe proposes that charging stations be installed every 60 km to recharge batteries

Europe takes a step forward in the implementation of infrastructure for the use of electric cars. And it is that this is one of the problems of this technology, so now it must have recharging points (electrolineras) over a distance of every 60 kilometers.

This is one of the measures approved by the European Parliament to improve the charging network. And not only that, they are also anticipating the use of hydrogen and a station should be every 200 kilometers.

Why implement such a measure? Europe is in a race against time. According to a report from the Motor Pasión page, the new provision is in line with the objective of reducing net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030.

In addition, another of the goals revolves around the ban on the sale of combustion cars by 2035. The presence of more charging stations could encourage the use of these vehicles that do not emit gases, which are more ecological.

But it is not only a declarative measure. By 2026, charging stations must have a minimum power of 400 kW, at least every 60 km along the main routes of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).

In the case of trucks, recharging stations must be 120 km apart, in the middle of the main roads of the European Union by 2028. Meanwhile, hydrogen stations must be separated by 200 km by 2031. .

And not only that, they have also suggested that network operators simplify the rules and means of payment, since today most of the top-up services require the use of an application and this creates confusion. The application of these specifications will correspond to each member country.
