YouTube: now you can create Shorts from the comments

Youtube has announced the tests of a new function for users so that they can create a short video or ‘short’ from the comments, and interact in this new way in the generated conversation.

The new YouTube test has been enabled for a small group of users of the mobile application for Android and iOS, who will be able to create a ‘short’ from a comment posted on the video they are watching.

The technology company explains, in an update to the feature tests and experiments section on the Help page, that the creators of the original video will not receive a notification when a viewer makes one of these ‘shorts’ from a comment, nor can they prohibit the comments from being used to create the ‘shorts’.

The only limitation for this new feature is that creators have comments disabled on their videos.
