Gmail adds a new translation feature for mobile devices

The email service Google Gmailhas introduced a new functionality that allows users to translate text and that has reached the mobile version, that is, for iOS and Android terminals.

The company recalled that “for years” users have been able to translate these messages into more than 100 languages ​​in the web version of its service, something their mobile applications needed to allow them to “communicate without problems.”

To translate a message on a ‘smartphone’, the Gmail application will detect that it is a different language and offer the ‘Translate’ button at the top of the message, under the senderwith a Settings button to choose the desired language.

Google has also said that you can choose to have Gmail always translate content into a specific language or never do so. However, you can proceed with this translation through the three-point menu, located to the right of the text.

Also, if the translation option is turned off, it will reappear the next time the content language of an email doesn’t match the Google mail display language.

Gmail translation for mobile will be available to all Google Workspace customers and personal Google accounts and has begun rolling out to Android gradually. In iOS it will be deployed from August 21.
