WhatsApp now allows you to use multiple accounts on the same Android device

WhatsApp is implementing the ability to use multiple accounts from the same Android terminal, as has been reported in the latest beta for this operating system and that some users can already try.

The company has spent months working on features to facilitate the use of the platform, with options such as ‘companion mode’, that is, a function that makes it possible to link the same account on two devices at the same time.

Last June, WABetaInfo announced that the platform is developing a similar function to use multiple platform accounts on the same device, which would initially be reserved for the business version, that is, WhatsApp Business.

This same portal has now indicated that this feature has begun to reach more Android users, thanks to the latest beta update of WhatsApp for Android 2.23.17.8, released through Google Play.

To add a new account, tap the arrow icon next to the QR code button. It is then when a menu appears in which the option ‘Add account’ appears, under the main account established in that terminal.

In this same menu it is also possible to switch to a different account and, in case a new account is added, it will remain on the device until the account is closed.

WABetaInfo has pointed out that this feature allows users to keep their private chats and work conversations in one app and keep their notifications separate.

Likewise, it has indicated that from now on, instead of configuring different platform accounts separately on each mobilea single app on your primary device can be used to access them.

This option is already available for some beta testers who install the latest version of WhatsApp for Android and will reach other users of this operating system in the coming weeks.
