Goodbye to WordPad: Microsoft removes it from Windows after almost three decades

Microsoft has announced the end of WordPad almost three decades after introducing it to Windows 95 and that it will not transfer this service to the future version of the operating system that it develops.

WordPad is a basic word processor -with options to choose from such as the font or the ability to justify text- that are included in many versions of Microsoft Windows and that came to this in 1995.

The company has announced that it will stop including this service in its operating system and that it will no longer be updated, as specified in the support section, where it has also recommended the use of another text application, Microsoft Word, for rich text documents. .doc and .rtf.

In addition, Microsoft has advised using notepad of Windows for plain text documents, although it has not given details about when it will completely remove it from the operating system.

It should be remembered that the company has announced this discontinuation just a few days after announcing news for this other service, which will be updated with functions such as automatic saving and automatic restoration of tabs.
