Paint will allow you to erase the background of images with one click in the same style as Photoshop

Microsoft is testing a new tool with which you can remove the background of an image in painting with a single click and that has already been implemented in Windows Insiders, in version 11.2306.30.0 of the Canary and Dev channels.

The company currently offers two versions of this service: Paint, which is a basic drawing solution, and Paint 3D, an application focused on graphic design and the creation of three-dimensional images.

In the standard version, you can remove the background from an image using the Selection tool, choosing the Freeform option and then the Transparent Selection option. Then, the pointer must be used to surround the object that we want to isolate from the background. You can then cut it out and paste it onto a new document to save the new image in .png format, that is, without a background.

In Paint 3D, however, you must choose the Magic Selection option, adjust the mask to the object you want to cut out and uncheck the Canvas option, so that the application only shows the object. Finally, the image must be exported to PNG so that it retains the transparent background.

Microsoft is now working on a new format for Paint that makes it easy to remove the background of an image with a single click, a feature that is being implemented for Windows Insidersvia the Canary and Dev channels (version 11.2306.30.0).

To use this tool, you must open the image and click on the background removal button, which is located on the left side of the drawing application’s toolbar.

Paint will then automatically detect the object to be highlighted and cut it out of the background. However, this version also indicates that it is possible to manually select the part of the background that you want to delete with the ‘Crop’ option.
