Fujifilm GFX100 II: artificial intelligence for focusing and 102 megapixels in one camera

The artificial intelligence (AI) could not be missing from the new cameras. So now, in the new GFX100 II from Fujifilm we can find that one of its features is that it has AI focusing.

This is a sign that this is no ordinary camera. And, just as smartphones displaced smaller cameras, today large format brands continue to innovate to make a difference.

This new model is different because it has a much larger image sensor than the Full Frame: it measures 55 millimeters diagonally.

This is the GFX 102MP CMOS II HS sensor which, as its name suggests, includes 102 megapixels of resolution. In addition, it has the X-Processor 5 image processing engine.

Thus, it can reach bursts of up to 8 frames per second with a mechanical shutter. In addition, it has a subject detection autofocus system that integrates the popular artificial intelligence.

According to the El Español-Omicrono page, tracking and detection autofocus is not only functional with human faces and eyes, but with other beings and objects, something that can also be seen in the latest Sony cameras, such as the Sony A7R V.

In the case of Fujifilm it is achieved by an updated AF autofocus prediction algorithm, made for extreme speed situations. This is a new trend to make work in photography more precise.
