Scientific Culture Day: schoolchildren from Lima, Pasco and Tacna will have a science and technology day

This weekend the schoolchildren of Lima, Pasco and Tacna will participate for the third consecutive year in the Scientific Culture Dayswhich aims to bring children and young people closer to science, technology and innovation.

This is a day organized by Concytec, in coordination with the Community of Scientific Communicators. Activities will begin on Friday, September 29 at 9:00 am. to 1:00 pm., at the scientific dissemination fair “Getting closer to science”, at the National University Federico Villarreal (UNFV).

This day of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics is aimed at students in the 4th and 5th year of high school. The event will have various stands where research projects from said university will be exhibited, as well as recreational experiments.

Science in Quechua

Likewise, on Saturday, September 30 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, a science fair will be held in Pasco, which is aimed at students in the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade of primary school who will be able to learn more about microscopy in their home. native language, Quechua. This event will be led by Kamaq Yachachiqkuna (Science in Quechua), a group that is part of the community that disseminates science in this native language.

The fair will be held at the Daniel Alcides Carrión National University (front of the administration offices), in San Juan Pampa, Yanacancha district, and will have the participation of students from the IE Luis Alberto Sánchez de Pucurhuay and the Higher Pedagogical Institute Public Gamaniel Blanco Murillo of Pasco.

Likewise, on Saturday, September 30, the Free CHIKICIENCIA Experiments Workshop “Celebrating the days of Scientific Culture” will also be held in Tacna, with the aim that students from the third to sixth grade of primary education learn about science in a fun way. During the Scientific Culture Days, Concytec, with the support of the Community of Communicators, will also carry out visits to universities and science and programming workshops in different schools that have Science and Technology Clubs, seeking to reinforce the work they have been doing. to promote scientific culture.

All these activities will be promoted within the framework of the celebration of the International Day of Scientific Culture (DICC); date promoted since 2020 in commemoration of the start of broadcasts of the television series ‘Cosmos’ on September 28, 1980. This was one of the most influential scientific dissemination programs in history.
