This evaluation was done during the second quarter of this year. According to the analysis, the average download speed in the main cities was 11.64 Mbps, with Tumbes (12.39 Mbps), Piura (11.89 Mbps) and Callao (11.88 Mbps) being the cities with the best performance.

At the other extreme were Juliaca (10.74 Mbps), Ayacucho (10.68 Mbps) and Iquitos (9.74 Mbps), cities that obtained the lowest performances.

Now, by operating company, the best performance corresponded to Claro with 12.99 Mbps, followed by Entel (12.03 Mbps), Movistar (10.37 Mbps) and Bitel (9.18 Mbps).

And what is the situation in Lima?

Regarding the latency indicator (which analyzes whether online content is accessed with a greater or lesser delay), the average of the main cities in the country was 79.36 ms, being Lima (75.42 ms), Callao (76.28 ms ) and Huancayo (77.64 ms) which showed the best performance. On the other hand, Puerto Maldonado (94.50 ms), Tarapoto (95.32 ms) and Iquitos (101.93 ms), achieved the most discreet performances.

By company, Claro was the operator that reported the shortest delay time, with a latency of 76.50 milliseconds, followed by Entel (77.84 ms), Movistar (78.19 ms) and Bitel (94.34 ms).

Longest coverage time

The analysis carried out on the 4G coverage time indicator showed that the average of the main cities in the country was 88.90%, with Pucallpa (94.22%), Tumbes (92.78%) and Iquitos (92.53%) having the longest coverage time. coverage, while Callao (88.69%), Lima (87.48%) and Puerto Maldonado (87.14%), the cities with the lowest performance

The coverage time indicator allows us to know the average percentage of time in which we are within the coverage of 4G technology, which would mean access to a better browsing experience of various content in that period.

Ica had the lowest packet loss percentage

The data packet loss rate (an indicator whose poor performance can cause the interruption of a data session or that we receive or send information with delays, intermittency or incompletely, in audio and video conferences, for example), in 4G technology, In the main cities of the country it reached the average 1.01%. The city with the best performance was Ica with a packet loss of 0.76%; At the other extreme was Iquitos with a packet loss of 3.86%.

By operating companies, regarding 4G packet loss, Claro had the best performance (0.77%), above Entel (0.87%), Movistar (1.14%) and Bitel (1.72%).

The quarterly analysis of mobile internet was carried out in 152 districts of the 21 main cities in the country, and allowed us to know the real performance of the four mobile operators in the indicators of speed, latency, coverage time and packet loss. In this way, users have updated information about the mobile service in their respective cities for better decision making.
