iMessage is the Apple messaging service, which enables send messages of text, photos and videos only to other company devices -iPhone, iPad or Mac-, through WiFi networks or mobile data.

If you do not communicate with Apple devices, iMessage allows you to use SMS/MMS formats, however, does not include other standards, such as the Rich Communication Service (RCS) protocol, which makes communication with other messaging applications such as Google difficult.

In this framework, the company technology directed by Carl Pei has pointed out that “we must open windows, don’t build walls”, so if messaging services “divide users” due to communication difficulties between devices, From Nothing they want to “break those barriers.”

To this end, Nothing has presented its new messaging app, Nothing Chats, which allows users send and receive messages via iMessage on your device Telephone (2), that will be available this Friday, November 17.

As reported by the company, the Nothing Chats app offers a solution for “one of the biggest frustrations of Android and iOS users”, since it allows you to send messages to other users using the iMessage “blue bubbles” from an Android device.

For this, Nothing has collaborated with Sunbird, an American company specialized in Android and web messaging, which has developed technology capable of introducing iMessage services, including multiple of its functions.

Some of these functions, as Carl Pei himself explained in a video, are the group chats, the voice notes and share multimedia content. However, the company has detailed that it will introduce other features “coming soon” such as reactions to messages and responses or the read notification.
