WhatsApp will allow you to search for other people who are not in contacts with your usernames

WhatsApp continues working on features associated with the unique username function, which will allow you to find people not saved in the contact book directly from the ‘app’ and without having to have your mobile phone, by entering their username unique through the search bar.

The instant messaging platform began working on a new feature that will allow users to choose a username for their account and use it as a unique name to identify their account, as was known in the month of May. In this way, the name will be displayed replacing the phone number in the contact information, similar to other platforms such as Telegram.

Now, WhatsApp has continued to develop new features regarding this function, with which you can search for unsaved users directly within the ‘app’just by entering your unique username in the search bar.

This has been confirmed by the specialized media WaBetaInfo after analyzing the beta update of the ‘app’ for Android 2.23.25.19, in which, in the search bar, the option to enter unique user names appears as a suggestion, to find the contact of unsaved people. In this way, you can contact other users without having to have their personal phone number.

In this sense, the platform owned by Meta will facilitate the connection process with other users, whether they are friends or strangers, just by having the unique name of the user in question. Following this line, the privacy and security of users’ personal data, such as the telephone number, is also improved.

However, it must be taken into account that the unique usernames function can be configured optionally, that is, not all users will necessarily have a username. In this case, users without an associated name will not appear with the search bar.

With all this, for the moment, the unique username configuration function and the method of searching for new users with that name continue to be developed.
