This electric bicycle becomes a “cargo truck” and can carry up to 500 kilos of weight

The electric bikes They are no longer just an option for personal transportation. Now there is a new proposal that could change the way cargo is transported thanks to a modular system called Pelican eTrain.

Although there are already cargo bicycles, this new proposal practically proposes converting your bicycle into a cargo truck, and with several bodies, since it can be adapted to transport up to 500 kilos of weight and about 3,000 liters of water.

This system allows for several form factors including carrying small loads on the back of the bike or using rear electric trailers.

That is, on the one hand, the bicycle can transport up to two electric trailers, each capable of supporting up to 200 kilos, or in other words, 1,500 liters of water. Each of these trailers uses its own electric propulsion system, and a control system synchronizes aspects such as acceleration and braking.

This is the most innovative factor as it gives the bicycle more power to move around. On the other hand, the report points out that when fully loaded, the Pelican eTrain can climb hills with an inclination of 18%. It also has emergency braking, which is responsible for completely stopping the trailers in case the bicycle driver lets go of the bicycle.
