Spotify debuts music videos for premium users in the latest beta version of the app

Spotify Premium has begun adding music videos to both its mobile application and the desktop version, a functionality that has already reached some countries through the latest beta version of the service.

The Spotify Premium subscription to the streaming music and podcast application is priced at 20.90 soles per month in the individual version and 32.90 soles per month in the Family version, which supports up to 6 Premium accounts.

The company has confirmed that it has launched a feature for subscribers of this payment plan, which is currently in beta version and that allows you to watch music videos in the platform’s own library. These can also be viewed in full screen if the device is placed horizontally.

At the moment, this option is only available in eleven countries, although it will reach other regions, as explained by Spotify’s global vice president of consumer experience, Sten Garmark, who has pointed out that video playback on Spotify is available for beta testers. from Brazil, Holland, Colombia, Kenya, Poland, Philippines, Sweden, Italy, United Kingdom and Indonesia.

The manager pointed out that the technology firm has chosen these markets “based on a series of criteria that include the size of the market and the availability of local content support.”

These videos can be viewed from the ‘Now Playing’ tab. For songs that also have a video, an icon indicating ‘Switch to video’ will be displayed above the song title.

Once this button has been pressed, the song will play again with its corresponding music video in the center of the screen, both on iOS and Android devices.
