Vivo has launched its new smartphone Vivo V40 SE, which offers a “premium” design in the purple model with imitation leather material, in addition to the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, which guarantees a 10 percent performance improvement, and the large capacity battery of 5,000 mAh, all this for 299 euros.

This Friday, the Chinese technology company announced all the new features of its latest mid-range device, with which it aims to adapt to the needs of various users, to whom it offers resistance to the unforeseen events of daily use, greater battery life and photography conditions capable of capturing “unforgettable memories”.

It is a smartphone that uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, manufactured with a 4-nanometer process and low-consumption technology. This chip offers a 10 percent improvement in device performance compared to the previous model, reaching maximum speeds of up to 2.2 GHz.

Vivo has presented it with a configuration of 8GB of RAM, with the possibility of extending its capacity by another 8GB, along with 256 GB of storage, which, according to the company, is equivalent to the possibility of storing up to 60,000 photographs.

The new smartphone is available in two models, one purple and the other black, which have been manufactured with different materials and formats, but which share an “elegant and top quality” design.

In this sense, the company has highlighted the purple design, which is inspired by “European craftsmanship” and is made with vegan leather made of stain-resistant ecological fiber. With this material, it transmits the soft sensation of the touch of imitation leather, while preventing the smartphone from getting dirty with liquids or with daily use, for example, when carrying it in a pants pocket.

For its part, the design of the black model is inspired by the sand of volcanic beaches, as it includes bright nuances in the black background and patterns that change depending on the light.

Likewise, both models have been designed with an ultra-thin design, less than 8mm thick and weighing around 190 grams, so that the smartphone is easy to transport and use. Its edges are straight with rounded corners and metallic finishes.

The screen of the new Vivo V40 SE uses a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel, with a refresh rate capable of reaching 120Hz. In addition, it has a screen/body ratio of 91.9 percent, which, according to the company, guarantees a “pleasant and spacious” vision.

Likewise, it manages to display a range of 16.7 million colors, in addition to reaching a maximum peak brightness of up to 1,800 nits to continue enjoying content on the device regardless of whether it is used outdoors in sunlight or in interiors.

With this, Vivo has highlighted that it is a flagship quality screen, capable of offering a “very vibrant and immersive” visual experience for entertainment, while noting that it has SGS Eye Care certification, to take care of the vision of users by reducing the harmful blue light emitted by the screen.

In the photographic section, the Vivo V40 SE has a camera with three lenses: a 50MP main lens, an 8MP wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP macro lens with f/2.4 aperture. Likewise, it offers a tenfold digital optical zoom and its front camera is 16MP.

Vivo has also highlighted camera features such as Front Portrait mode, with which users can adjust the level of bokeh effect in selfies to make the subject stand out more compared to the background, in addition to adding depth to the photo.

Following this line, the portrait mode on the main camera also allows a “creative touch” to photograph people “especially in low-light environments,” according to the brand. This is because it allows you to introduce a light flash effect in portrait photographs, in order to make the capture “more artistic.”

In the same way, night mode allows you to take photographs with clear, detailed and bright images. In addition, it also allows you to introduce Stylish Night Filters, which offer “a wide range of options that adapt to nighttime scenarios.”

As for its battery, it has a capacity of 5,000 mAh capable of offering a range of more than 16 hours of streaming video. In addition, it also includes 44W fast wired charging, which recharges 50 percent in less than 25 minutes.

The technology company has clarified that the useful life of the battery maintains 80 percent of its capacity after four years of use. It has the Night Time Charging system, which protects the battery while it charges at night, pausing the process so that it does not become saturated.

Vivo has also emphasized the durability of the smartphone, which has IP54 certification for resistance to liquids and dust. Furthermore, according to quality tests carried out by the company, it can withstand up to 32,000 drops from a small height without suffering damage, and is capable of withstanding 500,000 presses of the volume button in perfect condition. Likewise, it has been subjected to resistance tests against extreme temperatures, from use at minus 45 degrees to 75 degrees.

As for other features, Vivo V40 SE includes a fingerprint reader on the screen and offers high sound quality with its built-in double stereo speaker, with 300 percent more audio amplification thanks to the Audio Booster function. It also has Hi Res Audio technology for the first time in the V series in Europe.

All of this is powered by the FunTouch 14 operating system, based on Android 14. The company has guaranteed that it will offer up to three years of security updates and two years of Android updates.

With all this, users can now find the new Vivo V40 SE in Spain for 299 euros, with a launch offer that also includes the smartphone charger.
