YouTube: users with ad blockers will see only the end of a video

Youtube has begun to jump directly to the end of the videos in those cases in which it detects that the user has an ad blocker activated, in a new move in its open fight against these programs.

Open YouTube, click on a video to start playing and see that it immediately jumps to the final part, without the possibility of seeing all the content. This is what users of this platform have begun to report in forums and social networks.

What those affected seem to have in common is the use of an ad blocker, as reported by the 9to5Google portal. This would be another step in Google’s fight against these programs, given the importance of advertising for its business.

Last year, YouTube began to act against users who use these programs, first by displaying a dissuasive message and later by slowing down the videos, and even blocking playback, as it acknowledged in November.

The offensive bore fruit, since shortly after YouTube confirmed its plans, programs such as AdGuard and Ghostery registered a greater number of uninstallations.
